About the Executive Committee

Charge

The Executive Committee is charged with the establishment of policies and procedures to implement the long and short term strategies developed in the 2002 CCF Retreat.  The Committee is further charged with making recommendations to the full Commission regarding those decisions that have broad or significant impact or implications from the identified strategies and with providing regular and ongoing information and updates to the Commission on the activities associated with the strategies.


Specific Tasks

• Develop a new meeting structure to enable the Commission to spend more time sharing and analyzing current data; being more efficient on the business of the CCF and holding educational meetings bi-monthly;

• Develop ways to have more interaction with City Council, ACOB and School Boards;

• Identify ways to address “hot issues” in a timely manner;

• Develop ways to have one-on-one dialogue with government officials;

• Develop protocols/systemic approach for efficient ways to identify and facilitate issues;

• Determine ways to increase authority to influence delivery of services;

• Determine best ways to make recommendations to address urgent needs; and

• Increase staff capacity including sufficient space.

Timeline

The Executive Committee monitors the progress of Commission work groups and committees between meetings of CCF, approves the monthly CCF agenda, reviews proposals as to their feasibility, and develops recommendations for CCF.

The Executive Committee is composed of the CCF Chair, CCF Vice-Chair, a representative from the County Executive's Office and the City Manager's Office, and 2 Commissioners-at-large.

The Committee will develop a timeline for completion of strategies to present to the Commission.  As a result of the actions associated with these strategies, the Committee will act as a catalyst for the work of the Commission.
